7 Ways A Newbie Paintball Player Can Learn Everything They Need

Paintball is a great game for getting a lot of exercise,
challenging yourself and having fun. But as a newbie, you may
find yourself embarrassed because you dont know the rules, or
intimidated by more experienced players. You may be hesitant to
go out and play your first game because youre not sure what to
expect. If you do some research first, you will quickly find that
the information you need to feel a lot more comfortable and a lot
less like a newbie is easily found, especially online.

But first a note of warning for all newbies...

Paintball is Not a War Game!

Many people mistakenly believe that paintball is a "war game."
However, its really more like hide-and-seek, with the marking of
the opposing team being the way to tag the person out. This is
especially true of recball, woodsball, jungle paintball and
scenario games. It is advised that you do not refer to the
opposing team as "the enemy" or a mark as a "kill"! Some
communities have shut down paintball because players engaged in
"war" talk during and after a game.

How to Quickly and Easily Find Useful Information About Paintball

1. Research the Internet

The World Wide Web contains a vast storehouse of information on
paintball. To make the best use of the Internet, search Google or
Yahoo for specific paintball terms like "woodsball tactics,"
instead of the general term "paintball." Look for sites that list
paintball rules and offer hints, tips, tactics and strategy. You
can also check out sites that review paintball equipment, but
beware: a newbie doesnt need an expensive paintball gun to get
started. Many of the expensive guns dont work any better than a
good newbie gun. This is what the paintball players who wrote
"Paintball Heroes" say, "If youre a newbie, buy a good quality
semi-automatic gun, but dont spend a fortune on it. And for
goodness sake, learn how to clean it, load it, take it apart, and
put it back together again...in your sleep!"

2. Read Books

Go online and visit Amazon or BarnesAndNoble
(Chapters.Indigo.ca in Canada). Search for books on paintball.
Check out the reviewers comments carefully before you buy. Or
better yet, trot down to your local big bookstore and see if you
can find copies of the paintball books you found online. Take
time to browse through them and see which ones appeal to you
most. Check the local prices against the prices online before you
buy.

3. Read E-Books

You may find a few paintball e-books online, too, but these are
harder to find than print books. "Paintball Heroes" at
paintballheroes is a great e-book for beginners.
It was written by two teenage paintball fanatics!

To find other e-books, try searching for "paintball ebook" on
Google or Yahoo. Ask around in the forums and pay attention to
advertisements on paintball sites.

4. Study the Forums

Also search for "paintball forums" and you will find experts and
newbies alike sharing information about paintball equipment and
strategy. However, be aware that much of the information shared
on forums is misleading, if not just plain wrong. Pay attention
to what is said by forum leaders and well-known players, but take
everything said by anyone else with a grain of salt...or a shaker
of salt, for that matter!

5. Subscribe to Paintball Magazines

There are several good paintball magazines, both in print and
online.

For print magazines, go to your local bookstore and spend some
time at the magazine racks. Pick the magazine that appeals to you
most and look in the front for their Web address (URL) or
subscription address. Subscribe online or by mail. It's a lot
cheaper to subscribe to a magazine than to buy it each month from
the newsstand.

For online magazines, search on Yahoo or Google for "paintball
magazine online" or "online paintball magazine." Several online
magazines are listed in the Resources section of the "Paintball
Heroes" ebook, including:

- Action Pursuit Games - actionpursuitgames

- Crossfire Paintball Magazine - crossfiremag

- Force of Nature - forceofnature

6. Watch Experienced Players

So, you just got marked, eh? Disappointed? Well, dont be, this
is your opportunity to quietly observe those more experienced
players from the sidelines. Pay attention to:

- The way they hold their gun

- The way they move from bunker to bunker

- The way they signal to their teammates.

See if you can figure out their plan. All good players go into
every game knowing the plan their team decided on before the game
started. Here are some questions to ask yourself as you observe
experienced players:

- What are they wearing?

- How do they shoot from a bunker?

- How do they steady their gun?

- What bunkers do they choose? See if you can figure out why.

- How do they keep from getting marked?

Keep mental notes of everything you see. Later, compare what you
noted with the information youve been researching. Where does it
match? Where are there differences? Can you figure out why? Does
it have to do with:

- The terrain

- The type of game being played

- The players age or experience

- The rules of the field

- The players style of play or position (point man, safety,
sniper, back man, front man, rover, etc.)?

7. Volunteer

Later, when you have a few games under your belt, volunteer to
referee at your local field. This is the fast way to becoming an
expert paintball player, as you are able to observe not only the
great players methods, but all the newbie mistakes, too.

Pay Attention to the Experts, Not to the Know-it-alls

All in all, paintball information can be found easily and
quickly, especially online. Just remember to go to the experts
for help (books, e-books, magazines, forum leaders, pro players,
etc.) and to stay away from the newbie-talk and ramblings of
know-it-alls that fill many of the forums.

Paintball Markers: For Some Gun Down Actions

If you enjoy playing war games on your personal computers or play stations, then you would probably love playing paintball.

Paintball-One of the Safest sports today!

Paintball One Of The Safest Sports Out There Today.
While membership in the "Extreme Sports" category implies a whiff of danger, only Paintball is handicapped by a huge injury taboo--one that exists in the public mind, but not in the statistics. The industry has long maintained that the rare (but highly publicized) eye injury almost always occurs in an unsupervised, unprotected, often illegal setting; and that Paintball is a very safe activity--a claim substantiated by the current research, as the sport reflected only 0.2 injuries per 1,000 exposures, the lowest injury rate of any Extreme Sport. Put another way, the average player will suffer a Paintball injury about once every 500 years.
Did you know more injuries are reported from basketball and baseball than from paintball? Not many people know that. Ever since paintball began back in the mid 80s, safety was always the number one concern. We've always worn eye protection, although to begin with, it consisted of safety glasses and ski masks . Nowadays, we wear masks specifically made for the sport and tested to high standards. Every manufactured paintball mask must be made to withstand a paintball traveling at least 300 feet per second (fps) or about 201 miles per hour.
Paintball has regulated itself. We have developed rules and guidelines, and all paintball facilities in the world adhere to them strictly. We have never had to be regulated by any agency other than ourselves. That is a credit to the quality individuals and corporations that have made paintball what it is today.
Most of the problems occur when people purchase paintball equipment and play in their backyards or an empty lot. This is dangerous. If you want to ensure everyone's safety with paintball, a regulated paintball field is recommended. The only time paintball gets media coverage is when something goes wrong. There is the rare isolated incidents and most can be avoided by following the safety rules.
On regulated fields, Paintball players must keep their masks on at all times, even at the chronograph. Make sure your marker is shooting under the legal fps limit usually under 300. If you ever have a problem with your tank, never try to fix it yourself. Take it to the field operator or your local pro-shop. Make sure your equipment is in good shape and well maintained.
The paint in paintball is made of a washable substance and are actually editable!!. They are made of gelatin and food coloring. . There are paintball-eating contests all the time at tournaments and events. I don't recommend it, cause they taste gross but they happen all the time.
Paintball is one of the safest outdoor sports available. The paintballs do not cause injury, but falling down from tripping might. Personally, I have never seen anyone get hurt who was following all of the safety precautions. Paintball is not just aimlessly running around with a marker and shooting your opponents. Oh no. This sport takes practice, determination, strategy, and a lot of money. It can also be a LOT of fun!!!

Miltec MT-G3 Paintball Gun Review

Miltec MT-G3 Review

The Miltec MT-G3 is one of the best paintball guns I have had the pleasure of owning. This military simulation paintball marker is perfect for me because I am a scenario paintball player. Here are some pros and cons I have found with the G3 marker.

Pros:

  1. This gun looks awesome! The Miltec MT-G3 model after the Heckler and Koch MP-G3, this is the main choice for many armies around the world.

  2. The gun shoots accurate; I was very surprised at the accuracy of this paintball marker especially when I put a baseball sized pattern on a bunker more then 40 yards away.

  3. The gun shoots long range. I played speed ball with this Miltec marker and noticed it was reaching the other end of the field.

  4. Upgrades, There are tons of awesome upgrades for this gun, such as ACOG mounts for scopes, flashlights, night vision, etc.

Cons:

  1. Plastic... Some of the markers parts are made from plastic such as the pistol grip, the stock and the original hand grip. I have spoken with the manufactures and they expressed that they have plans to create a more durable frame in the future.

  2. Cleaning... The design of the marker makes it very difficult to field strip. You must take off the stock then pull the top cocking rod out of the bolt, clean it, then find some way to get the bolt back in without tools. Many fields do not allow tools on there fields.

  3. High Pressure... The gun is an air hog if you don't have a high pressure system you might have troubles getting the marker to run properly.

If you can get past the plastic, which can be upgraded, and the cleaning then this is the marker for you. I personally would recommend this marker to anyone that is willing to pay the 350 for it, which is a good price for a paintball gun.
